A portrait by Hannah Beier, 2020 graduate of Drexel Westphal’s Photography program, is selected among “TIME’s Best Portraits of 2020.” The round-up includes photographs of President-Elect Joe Biden, entertainers Billy Porter and Megan Thee Stallion, and the founders of Black Lives Matter, Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi, among others. Hannah’s portrait of Elissa DeFrancheschi is one of several images from her senior thesis project “Time Apart,” which served as the cover and feature story of TIME’s June 1 “Generation Pandemic” Issue.
